Nicholas Matthias, A.K.A. Lemar Haven:
An 18-year-old guy (Yes, I'm a guy, it isn't THAT confusing!
Despite what everyone who meets me says...) who lives in Sacramento,
California. Goes to Valley High School and has recently been
accepted to Chico State College (Majorly groovy!). A natural
bishounen hippy born in Alaska but who's lived in California most of
his life (Whimpy Californians don't know what cold weather really
is!). He spends his days going to school, coming home, and
working on his MANY projects. These include, but are not limited
to: QQ and SoF, writing stories, doing comics to hype QQ and SoF,
working on a "New Project" (Set to come out in about a year and a
half.), and practicing drawing (Unsuccesfully, to my utter disdain.).
Personal: I'll be honest, I
don't really look like my sprites. I'm actually quite overweight,
wear tie-die clothes and headbands, but I am still short like many
people believe. I'd say I'm rather optimistic, but I can be kind
of gullible. I practice drawing DAILY, in hopes that one day I
can do a handdrawn comic, but my normally quick uptake and learning
curve is beaten by my inability to draw. I have almost zero
artistic talent with anything that doesn't involve a computer, and
although I can use a computer to enhance drawings signifigantly, I have
to have a decent base first. Looking at a drawing I've done
recently right now, I can honestly say I've made zero progress in about
2 years.
Artist Wanted?: I have given
thought to maybe doing a joint comic with someone, they draw, I write
the story. I love writing to no end, so this would be a good
setup for me. However, finding someone who would work with my
whimsical nature and overzealous work schedule is beyond hard, it's
down right insane. Seeing as I have no money, paying someone is
out of the question.
Name: I've gotten questions
regarding why I use the alias "Lemar Haven". There are many
reasons that I used it. One is that I've always liked the name
"Lemar", and "Haven" fit well as a last name for the perspective I've
always seen myself having. Another is that the minute I was named
"Nicholas" I became a walking contradiction. Not to mention the
negetive connotations I associate with my name. Lately it has
begun to bother me a lot less, and my self-loating past has been
shattered. I've got a lot more confidence now, so I'll use my
real name more often, but I still like "Lemar Haven". It just
kinda fits, yanno?
Writing: I have a lot of
fiction works that I do often. However, as I said before, I have
an overzealous work schedule and am quite whimsical at times.
This means that a fiction or two may be left unfinished or I may begin
a fiction I later realize I didn't plan well enough to continue.
If you wish to read my fiction works, I post them on my forum, The Final Haven.
I invite you there, as I've got plenty of works there that you could
enjoy. You may even get a sneak peak into what I may be planning
for my next comics. Maybe.
Donating: I'm going to college
soon, that means more work. That also means I'm going to have to
take a part time job soon. Both are not prospects that I'm used
to. If I work, that means I have less time for comics. See
the pattern I'm getting to? Soon I'll be having a Paypal account
up and ready for people that want to donate, although I don't expect
much, every little bit will help. I mean, I spend hours working
on things to help improve this comic and improve my standing among
other comics, but I can only do so much and live with no wage, yanno?
